Hi. We're getting ready to sell our house in West Seattle, and the inspector for a previous buyer flagged damaged siding near the back door and a couple of windows. The deal fell through, and I want to fix it properly before relisting. Has anyone done siding repair before a sale?

Hi. Fixing it before relisting is smart, buyers get spooked by rot in the report. We did the same before selling in Georgetown. We called GotRot for Seattle Siding Repair, and they found the problem areas were mostly around window trim where caulking had failed. They replaced damaged boards, re-flashed the windows and resealed everything. Having the invoice and photos to show buyers helped a lot. Honestly, a patch-and-paint job without fixing the water entry point will fail again, and a good inspector will notice. Our second round of inspections came back clean.
