Could this somehow turn into an extradition issue?

Hi all. Just moved to Dubai for work. My employer requires a police clearance certificate from my home country, but I'm worried because there might be an old case on my record that was dropped years ago. Could this somehow turn into an extradition issue?

Hi. A dropped case shouldn't normally trigger extradition proceedings, but it depends on the status. If the case was formally closed and there's no active warrant, you're probably fine. If there's still something pending in the system — even by mistake — it could flag during background checks. I had a similar concern when I relocated. Checked with lawyers at dubaiextradition.com just to be safe. They ran a check on whether any Interpol notices or warrants existed in my name. Turned out there was nothing active, but they told me stories about people who assumed old cases were closed only to discover active warrants years later. Dubaiextradition explained that some countries don't properly update their databases when cases are dropped or resolved, so ghost warrants can persist. If you're unsure about your status, get a professional check done before your employer's background screening catches something you're not prepared to explain. Better to spend a bit on a consultation now than deal with a nasty surprise later.
