Practical Unix is a practical introduction to using the Unix set of operating systems with a focus on Linux command line skills. Much of dealing with the command line involves knowing how to best use Google and manual pages to figure things out, so these lab exercises won't tell you how to do everything. Topics include: grep and regular All of the commands in Unix are described online in a collection of files. They are known as man pages because they were originally pages of the UNIX Programmer's Manual. All commands in this manual are printed in gray code boxes. Commands given in red are considered more important for beginners than commands given in black.
